Enough is enough...

I do not remember the last time I cried for my country. I never even in my worst nightmares thought I would be crying for my nation with such a horrible pain besieged in my heart. I cry not because so many people were killed or that so many brave Jawans and NSG soldiers sacrificed their lives, but I cry because it is taking a lot more time for the ORDINARY men and women in the government to initiate any substantial effort to prevent another incident like this from happening.

What on earth is going to motivate these thick-skinned politicians who are no more a part of our country than I am, to wake up and look around. To realize that it is the same country that they were born on. One that they would have vowed to protect and do anything it would take to keep it safe, at least once in their lifetimes. Well now the question is pretty simple isn’t it, were we deceiving our bloody souls, were we be unfaithful to our parents, our friends, our relatives, or were we just plain and simple stupid? Little do these SERVANTs of the nation realize that they have not only let down the people of India, but also their parents their relatives, their kids and their husbands and wives by not serving their motherland.

But blaming the politicians alone is not going to solve the problem. I strongly believe that whatever happens to every single person is because of him/her being a magnet to that sort of a situation in some form or the other. It seems a very insane thing to say, but if we do a little bit of thinking and at the same time be 100% honest with ourselves while doing so, then we would 99 times out of 100 agree to the fact that we deserved whatever has happened to us. Fact is, more than 95 out of 100 people would not be truthful to themselves simply because they have their ego blocking them from doing so or other selfish or good reasons to be so. But what good are we to the nation than these bloody politicians if we are not ready to live life the right way rather than the easier way? That is precisely the attitude these silly politicians have, the difference being they are at a higher position and hence the fruits (poisonous ones) that they reap are far bigger and sexier than the ones that we ordinary people do…

So…. I’d like to urge every single Indian to wake up and WANT a change to happen from the bottom of their hearts and keep that feeling of anger or sorrow until we see steady progress made and positive change happening. Americans wanted change to happen, Obama promised them that and hopefully will deliver it but that does not concern us at this moment in time. Our biggest concern is, we need a new way of thinking in this country where every single Indian should know what is happening in the nation for eg. - who is doing good and who is not. The country should be able to bring out and put to justice anti-social elements without any delay and flush out any unnecessary elements thereby cleaning our nation and forming a system where every single Indian is entitled to equal rights.

What can be done…? Well for starters, every single Indian needs to think that our country is the best and should WANT from the bottom of their heart that our country will improve in every possible way and become a nation that other nations follow and seek advice from.

Yes, you read it right... I have specifically named this blog so as to make people think of this entire situation in a different angle rather than the obvious angle of it being a nightmare for the people who have been through a harrowing experience one would not have dreamt of or even seen on the silver-screen.

These last 60 odd hours have been the worst this nation may have ever seen since Jallianwala Bagh massacre. But at least Brigadier-General Dyer did not do it without warning and in closed grounds. I do not mean to exemplify the bloody act of Jallianwala Bagh but try to make a mere comparison of being man enough to fight in the open. These so called terrorists have shown and continuously show us citizens of the world that they are scared of others intimidating them and hence they burst out in fear-triggered anger and resort to such cowardice acts of barbaric retaliation to prove a point that neither they nor their inspirers can justify or stand up for, let alone be proud of.

There are some questions that need to be answered by the world’s big players. I say players in order to avoid the usage of word 'forces' as I am restraining myself from referring to the large nations as entities ready to do battle with each other for insane reasons such as ‘invisible WMD’ and the likes, as they truly are. I do not mean to say that India is not one amongst the nations lining up to be similar in stature and power like the other power mongers but it is all because of a few nations that truly believe that sheer military might makes them leaders of the world.

The world is now posed with a lot of questions to be answered. How do we go about putting an end to this issue of terrorism and growing extremism against humanity? I do not see it as a war against Hindus or Christians or Muslims. I see it as a war between illiterate barbarians and the so-called civilized barbaric communities. Is it even a fight we were destined to fight amongst ourselves or is it something that certain anti-social elements within the so-called civilized communities that are manifesting a larger than life drama in order for other growing economies to hurt each other in the name of growth and achieving great heights which the developed economies will make impossible nevertheless.

These developed societies are to be held by the scuff and asked questions on terms of what is being done in order to put in place world peace. In stead these power-mongering nations are doing everything that is putting both their own and other nations people into even greater danger of massive unrest due to the growing interdependence between nations from the West and Asia.

I wish I could ask these questions to the presidents and prime ministers of all the countries who are capable of doing anything substantial in this regard. Sadly I am in no position to put these views across to those in question.

“My heart goes out to the brave men who fought to rescue hostages, some of who have lost their lives during their efforts and also appreciates the non-stop effort the journalists of various news networks across India who have covered the various incidents across Mumbai. They have kept the general public aware of the happenings although it was a huge confusion as to who was doing justice to what was happening and who was blowing the incident beyond proportions to gain mileage out of the incidents is yet to be seen. I keep my opinions reserved for another well researched and proof read blog after this one.”

MOTHER - the answer to all our prayers

Greetings my dear readers… hope the day, so far has been good for U and hope it only gets better. Today I’ve picked an incident that I witnessed in front of the restaurant I usually have breakfast at. Before I get to the incident that I witnessed I’d like to pay tribute to God’s most intelligent / important creation and in fact his representative on earth residing thankfully in almost every household – MOTHER.

Mother, of all humans is a special distinct class. They are not born, they become Mothers when they give birth to their babies or assume the role of a mother to a child and mature as a woman who has given birth to another life on this planet. She is a blessing as a baby daughter, an uncontrollable little monster during school, an even more rebellious girl when in college and finally the most well defined person on the planet – a heavenly representative in the form of a Wife and a Mother after that.

Mothers not only have the responsibilities of motherhood but the entire family’s well being depends on how she conducts things at home. A father may be called the head of the family and no lady in her true mind would object that, but there is not enough emphasis given to the working woman or the housewives, without whom, the head of the family would rather be only a head without the remaining body. Well that isn’t a pretty sight or a pretty thought now, is it….?

Ok… now let me get to the incident that happened today morning!!!!

I was standing at one of the pedestal tables and having my daily dose of Idli-Vada (a South Indian delicacy) at this restaurant called “Balaji Uphar” close to the park I go to walk early in the morning. While I was eating this delicious dish, I noticed a woman asking for alms, right in front of the restaurant. I have never had a sympathizing eye for people who beg with their children in their arms and begging in the name of feeding the kid although it sounds very rude, I have enough reasons to believe that its more of laziness that drives them towards this or someone else acting at the back of all this and making them beg for money. Me giving them money is not going to make things better.

But after a little while my attention fell on the baby she was carrying on her chest. The child was tied to the mother in a way that the child was actually facing the people coming from behind the lady. The kid was naturally moving its arms and stretching it out of impulse. (I don’t know how I came to notice it in the nick of time) I was enjoying seeing the baby wiggle its hands here and there not worried about what mom is doing and all of a sudden from no where came a man from behind who came very close to the child walking past it. This is when I noticed a true mother’s affection and love for the child. She wasn’t scared of the man attacking her as it was a public place and no in their sound mind would do that. She swiftly changed direction and turned to face the man who didn’t even notice she doing so as he was busy getting into the restaurant for breakfast.

As an on-looker what I realize from what had happened is – the mother did not want anyone to get the impression that her son/daughter was also into begging. It goes to show the love the mother has for her child and that she wants her child to grow up and come out of the clutches of what is holding her in begging for survival. As I have pointed out in my previous blog, every person has the choice to make things better for themselves or for others and thereby proving themselves as worthy human beings and thereby good leaders. Well a lady whom more than 90% of people would right off as just another beggar woman, she qualifies as one of the greatest people on the planet to me. All though I do not advocate the fact of her being a beggar and not doing some household job, I still cannot right her off as a loser and in fact, would class her as a winner and a leader at that moment for that act of good thought for her child.

Hence I would like to endorse the thought that no matter who you are and what you do, it is the inner person and the true person that you are and what you think that decides whether you are a good person or not… but please do not go under the impression that if one thinks straight alone, he/she is a good person, people who only think and do not act on the right things are as good as untapped crude oil inside the earth. It is a matter of time when everyone has to act upon their thoughts in the right direction and hence prove to themselves rather than others that they are good human beings.

I would like to thank all of my readers for the gift of their time and patience shown in reading my blogs till date. I would appreciate if you could pen down your thoughts at the bottom of this page in order for me to improve on the content.
Thank you…

THE JOURNEY TOWARDS BECOMING A BETTER HUMAN / A LEADER

Greetings my dear friend(s)… In an attempt to bring humans together and work towards becoming a better human being and thereby a better leader – 2 youngsters have planned to join hands with the other HUMANS in the neighborhood to make everyone around including themselves live life not only for their near and dear but for themselves as well. Who are the two youngsters? Well – one is me who has written this blog and the other is YOURSELF for the simple reason that you have already come half way in making your life more worthwhile by taking the effort to read this blog and the reason I refer to you as a youngster is that you are slowly but steadily regaining the same level of enthusiasm as you may remember having had during your childhood days.

Most of us have lived our lives either to support our parents, our children, our grandchildren, our families etc… all is well in fact I do agree that that is one of the most important part of our lives if not the most important part. But what this blog of mine intends to do is to shake your thought process a bit and make you realize the importance of living life for yourself and for other things except saving and providing for your family. Let me ask you a simple question – “what would the child you once were, think of the person you have become today?”

Going by the great adage - "the greatest tragedy of life is not death, but what we let die within us while we live" - (source unknown)... meaning the inner desires, the dreams that we wanted to make come true, but never spent time towards it because we had our plates full already with other commitments… Well the only solution to this is, manage your time properly and spend sometime over the weekend on the dreams.

We humans are nothing but evolved animals, which have the knowledge of good, and bad and also who can choose between a blessing and a curse, but in spite of this we tend to do things the easier way rather than the right way, just so that it can be done a lot easier. This is where we need to show signs of leadership and exercise them. We need to make the right choices in order to justify our place on this planet. To prove ourselves worthy of our place on this planet and provide to the whole Human race rather than just be a mere passive part of it. In doing so we would not only achieve a greater sense of being, but also will be reaching for a greater sense of responsibility. Now that we are talking about a responsible person, what topic better can we discuss about than leaders and leadership;

IN SIMPLE WORDS, THIS IS HOW WE WOULD EXPLAIN WHAT A LEADER IS VISUALISED AS:

• A leader is a person, who does things in the right way,
• A leader stands up for his or her own doings and owns up responsibility if they go wrong,
• They are who take the path little people take and try succeeding in it no matter what comes in their way,
• Leaders never give up on an idea whether it is their own or their team mates’ as long as it is something worth working on.
• Leaders lead by example and set examples for people to follow…

“all this is fair and true. But then what about those who do not come into a category where they are not lucky enough to be in a position where the tag ‘leader’ is not associated to them...” hence on a broader perspective, let us consider this description to be fair to humanity:

I WOULD LIKE TO DESCRIBE A LEADER AS:

• ONE WHO BREATHES OXYGEN - ROBIN SHARMA (LEADERSHIP EXPERT)
• ONE WHO CRIES WHEN IT HURTS AND LAUGHS WHEN IT TICKLES; MOST IMPORTANTLY SHOULD DO THE SAME NOT ONLY WHEN IT HAPPENS TO THEMSELVES, BUT ALSO WHEN IT HAPPENS TO OTHERS AS WELL…
• ONE WHO LOVES TO SEE PEOPLE AROUND HIM / HER HAPPY, FULL OF LIFE AND WHO LOVES PASSING POSITIVE ENERGY AROUND TO OTHERS.

“Effectively, these points mean to say that everyone on this planet is a leader in their own rights”

The perception of people that only people with position are leaders is sort of a misconception. Reasons being:
- If Mahatma Gandhi would have thought that only the officials in the military had the right to fight for freedom, then we would never have seen independence till date…
- If mother Teresa had not taken initiatives towards treating leprosy like any other normal disease then lepers would have no one to think about them, let alone people to love them and care for them,

Hence the point is – everyone who notices an opportunity or an opening to do some good that can make a positive change in any ones life would qualify as a leader.

"So my fellow humans, if there is an opportunity that NATURE/GOD has presented you to prove to YOURSELF that you are a good human being and thereby a good leader, then don’t think twice before performing it. It doesn’t matter how big or how small the deed you do is… it is the effort that makes you a better human being and thereby proving that you are a leader…."

This blog is only a personal reflection of my thought and my ideas and a few ideas shared from a few audio presentations that I have listened to and does not intend in any way to alter or influence the readers’ perception or idea. Thank you for the time you have spent on reading this, shall try improving with every effort of mine. Hope you have enjoyed and have learnt something. GOD BLESS ALL
